Documenting those Special Milestones

There are special milestones in our lifetime.  Some are events that shape our lives, others are as simple as a child losing their first tooth.  Of course, we usually choose to document that milestone by taking photographs.

This series of portraits of this beautiful family was commissioned for a special milestone — Mom was turning 50 and the daughters were celebrating their 21st and 18th birthdays.  They will lovingly remember this precious memory and cherish their portraits for a lifetime.

Engagement Slideshow to Enjoy!

It’s been a long time since I have blogged.  There should be no excuses — somehow my blogged gets put on the bottom of the long list and gets neglected.

All of my holiday sessions are complete.  Your order must be placed by Oct 2 to guarantee for holiday delivery.

At Poppyblue Photography we specialize in dog and family photography.  We also offer high senior, newborn, executive headshots, modeling/acting headshots and engagement portraits.  No, we do not offer wedding photography, however we can make recommendations for excellent, experienced photographers in the Chicago area.

Engagement photography is so much fun to do without all of the pressure of the wedding day.  Below are two links to view a slideshow from Engagement sessions I did over the fall.

Look at that Face!

The moment I saw that expressive face I could not wait to start photographing her.  As ready as I was, I could see she was anxious.  When dogs come to my studio or meet on-location I allow extra time to let the dog explore and to feel more comfortable.  I carefully watch the dog’s body language to know when the dog is ready.

How could you not love that face!  She is so sweet and dearly loved by her owner, an ER physician.

Is it possible for a FEMALE dog to remind me of Joe Pesci? : ) Just the first thing that popped into my brain! Love the brindle with the wood, it’s very complementary!
